Frequently Asked Questions
1. I used another personal finance software before installing Visual Money. How can I move my data to Visual Money?Almost all programs similar to Visual Money support exporting into QIF files. Just export your transactions from your previous program into a QIF file and then import this file into Visual Money.
2. I have lost my registration key, what should I do?
Please write us a letter to support@visual-money.com and specify your full name. If you write us from e-mail that differs from the e-mail you provided in your Visual Money registration information, please also specify your full street address.
3. How can I start working with Visual Money?
When you start Visual Money first time, the program will load a demo profile. To create your own profile please select File->New from the main menu and start entering your data.
4. I cannot use spenders feature, how can I enable it?
To enable spenders feature you need to pass to the main menu item "View" and tick off "Show Spenders". Alternatively you can pass to the "Payees and Spenders Section", click on the "Spenders" tab and tick off option "Show Spenders on Transaction Page and Reports" at the bottom.
5. For which purposes should I use spenders feature?
Spenders feature can be useful if you share a budget with other people (for example, your family). By assigning spender to every transaction (income or expense), you'll be able to see expenses and income of every budget member.
6. I have created a transaction, but the transaction is not shown on the list.
The list shows transactions that belong to a specified transaction period. Probably the date of the transaction is beyond the period. You can change the period by clicking the icon in the upper-right corner of the transaction page.
7. I like Visual Money, however functionality of Visual Money does not entirely match my needs.
We are planning to significantly enlarge functionality of Visual Money in the future versions. Please write us your propositions on which functionality should be added, we will be very grateful for your ideas.
8. I would like Visual Money to load my profile on start up. What should I do?
Please choose Tools->Options menu, then check the Load Last Profile flag on Profiles & Backup page (the last profile will be loaded every time Visual Money starts), or choose your profile in the Default Profile List.
